What is a HVRAS?
The Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme (HVRAS) grants accreditation to individuals who perform inspections and measurements on motor vehicles weighing over 4.5 tonnes of Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and trailers weighing over 750kg of Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) in order to facilitate their registration in Queensland.
The purpose of this accreditation is to ensure that these vehicles comply with the following:

Safe tire limits

Vehicle identifiers such as engine number, VIN, chassis number, and modification plates
The HVRAS inspection involves the measurement and verification of weights, as well as all vehicle identifiers, in accordance with the requirements set by Queensland Transport. Therefore, if you own an unregistered truck, trailer, caravan, or motorhome, an HVRAS inspection must be conducted before registration can be obtained.

When is a HVRAS required?
